I stopped by Autotech today to just check out a “check engine” light that was on. Ronny hooked the BMW scan tool and I was out of there in 20 minutes at the best price, I later found out that this would have run me around $200 at BMW Santa Monica for something that took ten minutes to diagnose and ten minutes to fix. I couldn’t walk away without throwing a tip. To do it myself, the parts would have cost $20 and taken a half an hour. Fairness is the point here. It is just nice to see an old school mechanic help you out and not try to screw you in the end by charging a ridiculous price for labor and parts. I think his quick job on my BMW was overly fair and did in fact earn him a new repeat customer. If you have a German car go to Autotech. The service, the personability and the work quality count with Ronny. I would highly suggest you take your car to Autotech. He knows what he is doing. With regards to the post prior to mine, this is LA, you spend 4 hours a day riding your brakes 10000mi. isn’ta bad run. Drive a manual, it is the only way a German car should come. you’ll save $$$$ on brakes and it is actually driving, especially with an BMW. Good Job guys.
