I have a E30 M3 in my shop that was last worked on by this repair shop.
They billed for a new chain tensioner, which is still the original part. Since the original part is NLA I know it has not been changed. $186 was charged for the part, retail is $163. So he was overcharged for a part that was not even installed on the car.
Then we have a valve adjustment. One lifter bucket is still clattering away and the valve cover gasket leaks profusely. So they either did not adjust the valves or they did a very poor job at it, and apparently did not change the valve cover gasket as was billed on the invoice.
In the end the bill was $692.63, for a whole lot of nothing. What professional shop uses handwritten receipts anymore?
Be very aware if you use this shop for service as it appears that the work being billed for is not the work performed. At least in this case you have one customer out a significant sum of money. Buyer beware.
