A while ago I was searching for an honest and competent BMW shop when we moved to the San Gabriel Valley area. I used a search engine to find a recommended shop by AAA Automobile Club. G & M Automotive Services came as a final result. After my first visit, G&M became my primary shop for all my family cars. So, when I accidentally stumbled upon the above commentary, I was taken back. I decided to give them a call and ask for a more detailed explanation. This is what I found out. The incident had a different side of the story by their account and records. The car came in with check warning lights and messages on the display boards that needed to be diagnosed. Since there were so many of them and unrelated to each other (domino effect), it is a common practice to reset/reboot the computer and recheck it again after additional driving. This is a measure to actually save and prevent any unnecessary repairs. The customer was informed about it verbally as well as noted on the final invoice. That is why the next shop did not see any warning lights present. They told me that AAA Auto Club rates them yearly and their scoring is consistently 100% after surveying 250 customers by AAA. That is a record very hard to beat. Yes, I trust them and they are still my family shop.

I brought in my E60 530i to G&M since the service light was on. G&M diagnosed half a dozen items to be replaced, reset and maintenance services found on my car's computer. G&M gave me a copy of the suggested services and i took my car to another shop for a second opinion.

The other shop was not able to find a warning message, either G&M was lying to me or they reset my car's computer. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THESE GUYS!
