I origninally contacted Germanwerks to price an oil change for my 701iL. The lady quoted $111.00 and I asked if that included resetting the oil service light. I was told YES, however when I went to have the oil change, I noticed afterward the oil service light was not reset. I questioned this and was told that in order to reset the light a very expensive diagnostic was necessary. I declined because I would simply monitor the milage. During this visit I asked about the cost to replace the broken cup holder, explaining that I had purchased a replamement. The lady said $38.00 for that job. When I arrived today the cost for the cup holder replacement was now $68.00. I asked why there had been a change from the original conversation and I then mentioned the change regarding the oil service light. The lady and technician became very, very angry and said I had originally asked that the check engine light be reset and the $38.00 figure was given because the lady's computer was not "up" when she gave the price. I know what I asked for regarding the oil service light and I said that I was simply questioning the change from one visit to the next. They refused to work on my car but fortunately the lady told me about another shop nearby, to the extreme chagrin of the technician. The reccommended shop changed the cup holder and reset the oil service light without any major worki.

Completely agree with Chirs. German werks is the worst autoshop ever!

Ridiculous pricing.

Nice lady, but whoever decides the labor estimates is overcharging. I was quoted over $900 for something I got done for $300 a couple blocks down. I never have a problem paying more for quality work, but triple the price is way off. I pulled out my past invoices from German Werks and found out I was overcharged for every single job I had done there. You can screw a customer a few times before he figures things out, but wouldn't you rather be fair and have a lifetime customer? You have been warned. Proceed with extreme caution!
