We purchased a used 2001 BMW 325i for our daughter to use back and forth to school and to take to college. I knew there were some mechanical issues to be addressed when I purchased it; however, I did not know that it would need transmission work. The car would occasionally go into “safe mode” and sometimes would not reverse. After much research I knew it could be as simple as a sensor or as bad as a new transmission. I started by taking it to the BMW dealership to get the diagnoses and you can guess the result. “You need a new transmission and that will be $7K-$8K”. I took it to AAMCO and an independent shop for more opinions. All came back with the same answer and I never believed that they truly knew what was causing the problem. I finally found Florida Transmission Repair online and called Tim to talk through the problem. Even though it was after hours on Saturday, he spent time with me discussing the problem and I could tell he cared and knew what he was talking about. I drove the car about 50 miles to his shop. He spent about an hour doing a full diagnostic (more than anyone else) and could not immediately identify the problem. I decided to leave it for more testing. The next day Tim found the issue and finally the diagnoses made sense. Cooling fluid and transmission fluid were mixing and breaking down the soft parts of the transmission. Tim repaired the transmission and fixed the cooling system issues for well under half the original BMW estimate just for the transmission replacement. Yeah it was still hard to pay out for car repairs, but I knew we were fixing the real problem. In fact if I would have simply replaced the transmission and not addressed the cooling system issue the transmission would have failed again in time. I am happy with the service and would highly recommend this place if you want real answers and a fair price!!

I highly recommend Florida Transmission to anyone that needs transmission service or parts. I recently had another transmission shop attempt to repair and fix my transmission with no success. Dealing with them turned into a huge nightmare that to this day has not ended. Not only did Florida Transmission fix the damage from the previous shop they also provided great documentation, friendly customer service, a quick turn around at a reasonable price. My advice to anyone who is looking for transmission service. "Don't try to cut corners and let the guys at Florida Transmission help solve your Transmission problems".
