My 2000 Z3 broke down on I95 outside Columbia and my mechanic in Charleston recommended BAS to me. I called and asked Mr. Shields if he would be open on a Friday afternoon if I had the car towed there. He graciously stayed to help me out even going out for parts for me. After fixing my problem, he took the time to educate me on what else may need to be replaced on my car BEFORE something this bad happens. Now, I ask you, can it get any better than that?
My friend and I went on to Tennessee and had a lovely week end. Thanks guys.

I own a 2004 530 that I absolutely love and can’t imagine getting parting with. However, my car is approaching 200,000 miles and after the warranty expired a number of mileage related issues occurred. I found Bavarian Auto online and called for an appointment. I have found Bob and the team to be extremely knowledgeable, responsive and a joy to work with. I have enjoyed the relationship we've developed over the years and have referred several of my friends who have had a wonderful experience. I get a great job done at a fair price and unlike most entities in this day and age, they stand behind their work. I intend to get another 200k miles out of this car and will be a customer for life of Bavarian Auto.

I currently own a 2001 BMW X5 with a little over 100,000 miles. After my 50k mile warrant expired @ BMW dealership,my husband begin to research BMW dealerships in the area and found Bavarian Auto Service. We drove over to meet the owner Bob and to observe the enviroment. We were very impressed with the cleanliness and knowledge of the staff. Bob was very accomodating to my husband and I. We have since been customers of Bavarian for about 5-6 yrs. Over the years Sam has join the staff with Bob and Rob and he's been a great addition to the team. I would and have recommend Bavarian to any BMW owner in the surrounding area. Great customer service. They have not let me down over the years .

We are new to the Fort Mill/Rock Hill area of SC and in need of a BMW mechanic. BAS was recommended to us by new friends we met here in the area. Being in the motorcycle industry and dealing with parts and service shops and employees all the time, I was highly impressed by this shop. At first I was a little skeptical of the location being a little "off the beaten path". To my amazement, I pulled into the secure, fenced in rural shop and found a neat, eat-off-the-floors clean shop. After a few minutes speaking with Sam i knew I had come to the right place. Here is what I received:
-prompt appointment and diagnosis
-prompt detailed evaluation including phone call with expected cost estimate and time frame
-work completed sooner than expected and done correctly the first time....so rare these days!
-completed cost less than verbal estimate
-detailed run down of other items found in the bumper to bumper inspection
-thorough explanation of work completed and recommendation of what should be fixed next in order of importance.
-fair pricing on both parts and labor.
I am thoroughly pleased and impressed with my experience and WILL be recommending them to my friends and colleagues.
THANK YOU BOB AND SAM,
Sincerely,
The Ruff's

Bavarian Auto Service has handled my BMW repairs since 2004. I was new to the area and found this shop on the internet. I have been pleased with the service and knowledge of the staff (Bob, Sam, and Robert). I get honest estimates on cost and time to complete the job. I have over 285K miles on my 1999 323i, and I'm looking forward to another 285K miles!

Bob is great to deal with.
Him and his staff really know what they are doing and they treat my car like it was their own.

The "ladies" above need to get a better handle on what it takes to own a high performance German automobile. I was referred to BAV by a business associate. I historically took my car, a 2002 530i, to the dealership for service. Since my first service a couple of years ago, I have found Bob and Sam extremely responsive, knowledgable and competent to diagnose and resolve issues that my 100M miles+ auto is going to have. Always repaired to my satisfaction at a fair charge. If you can stand the heat, get out of the kitchen and get yourself a Kia. The race card, really?

I have 2003 E-39 and everytime I have a concern with my car, my first thought is to call Bob Sheilds.
Bob and his team are extremely accurate in identifing root causes of issues and are methodical in ruling out superficial repairs that waste both my time and money.
In addition, Sam, whose has been the mechanic on my car for over four years is professional and knowledgable. Small things, like a broken hose to repair my windsheldwashers, are fixed, at no charge, and nothing spoken.
Repairs are done right because they are Bimmer specialists.

I visited this place and was ignored while standing there for 15 minutes. I left because it seemed that they were not interested in my business. I had previously called over the telephone and they told me to bring it in. Since the number was different on the sign outside the building from which I had called earlier I called back to see if I was at the right place. I was idenified as the "black lady" that was just in there. How rude! He made it sound as if he didn't need my business so I could come back or I could keep going.....guess what? I hit the freaking gas and kept going until I got to a GREAT place because to me all money is "green".

Having had an issue with my 2003 CSI and being new to the area.. I found this shop online and called for help. My car would not start and felt comfortable with the customer service i recieved over the phone and promptly had my car towed in for repair. It turns out I had flooded the engine somehow and it was up and running over 700.00 dollars and one day later..
Months later, I noticed my check engine light on and quickly drove over for them to have a look.. after checking and deciding it was just a loose gas cap and my kight reset.. I was charged 80.00! Since they only take cash and I never expected to be charged for resetting a light, 5 minutes of ...what exactly.. I only had 70 cash.. shocked I was told he'd take it since his machine cost him he felt compelled to charge me.. Hmmmm.... So much for that great customer service i experienced before!
Now, I need new brakes and I will drive to the dealer and get it fixed there rather than being treated like they are doing me a favor.. Oh, I didn't mention that I was ignored for the first 10 minuted I was there.. so insult added to injury.. not intersted in dealing with such rude behavior..

I haven't had a chance to have work done with my car yet, but I called Mr. Sheilds to get some advise on my BMW and I was very pleased with the help I recieved. I called upset and confused not knowing what to do, and Mr. Sheilds took a very careing tone and pointed me in the right direction, even if it meant me taking my buisness elsewhere- he was VERY pleasant and VERY honest and helpful. After I got off the phone with him I felt calm and satisfied with the advise he offered. I would most definatley use their services.

My BMW is 10 years old. Several repair events with this shop over past 5 years. The work has held up but not quite confident of market value of fees charged.
Communication lacking. This customer would like another service option.

The Harris's were customers for nearly five years. Their car was run hot and the engine damaged. After talklng to Mrs Harris about their options on this , she handed me off to Mr Harris to discuss the repair. He decided to repair the existing engine, and we dealt with the cooling system issues that cause these kinds of problems, as well as fixing the damage. We completed the job in a timely fashion, and were well under the cost of the next price option. I was not aware that there was a problem with Mrs Harris until I saw her remarks on this site. They have since brought the car back to us for additional work. I told Mr Harris what was wrong with his car(at no charge) , but declined to do the work until we "fixed" our relationship. Mrs Harris declined to do so. I told Mr Harris that while we would honor our 2 year unlimited mileage warranty on the previous work, we would not be interested in doing anything else for them. We are a small shop, and we take pride in knowing who our customers are, and trying to do the right thing by them. There is an issue of trust that we work very hard to establish. It's my opinion that Mrs Harris, not understanding what all was done, took it upon herself to price shop a head gasket repair, and our numbers came up higher. You cannot compare apples to oranges. My feelings are hurt that she did not ask me for an explanation , she just posted her complaint online. And now she doesn't want to talk about it at all. I guess the old saying about no good deed goes unpunished applies in this case.
