I wouldn't let these people fix my roller skates, much less my BMW. I took my Z3 in to them for a wheel alignment, replace 2 tail lights and to get an estimate on changing out my convertible top which was showing some wear. When I picked up the car, they had changed out 6 additional tail lights without my permission and charged an astronomical amount for them. Also, the next morning, I noticed a huge hole in the convertible back window that they had covered it up with a piece of clear tape so I wouldn't notice it.. I called them to ask about the hole and they told me "those things happen" sometimes. Funny that it happened while they had the car.in their possession. And to top it all off, the alighment was awful and I wound up having to take it somewhere else to have it done right.

I took my 323i to Akin for the first time, because of a small engine oil leak. $325 to fix it. Okay, do it. They had my car for 3 days. A few days after bringing it home, still an oil leak. Take it back, they steam the engine and say, oh, there is "another" gasket that needs replacing - $400. I say, well, what about the other gasket you fixed that didn't need it. They say, oh, it did need it, you had two leaks. Okay, I'll bite. Go ahead. They keep my car 2 days. A week after bringing it home, the same oil spot under my car shows up. So, bad experience. On top of that, once they got under my car they recommended another $1500 of repairs I "needed" - they weren't causing me problems yet but they "would eventually". Fortunately I said no.

Not recommending people use them, or not use them. Just relaying my experience. Good luck.

Akin Bimmer Works is very knowledgeable and professional. Mr. Akin spent time letting me know all my options and even recommended that I may want to consider purchasing another car instead of making all the repairs. This proves to me that he is looking out for his customer's and not his pocket book! Top notch place and I will refer all my BMW friends to this shop.

I took my BMW for service and these guys are very professional and honest people. Mr. Akin took the time to explain to me and he actually showed me the parts that needed to be replaced on my vechicle. His prices are very reasonable. I am very pleased and will always take my BMW to Akin Bimmer for repairs!

I took my '97 328i in for a charging issue. Everything worked and ran smoothly. Akin had my car for a week or so before they decided to start swapping parts out at random. They installed a new alternator and starter, and replaced the battery. When I got the car back it did work for a short time, but the a/c fan was completely dead and the tail lights were out. The alarm also failed and I could do nothing with the remote.

They then "checked" these new problems and determined that the computer must be at fault. Afterwards I decided to repair the a/c myself, and discovered that one wire on the connector for the resistor pack had been pulled out and taped up. Simply reconnecting this brought the fan back to life. The faulty alarm and tail lights also happened to be the result of someone pulling the fuse for them and not replacing it.

After the initial charging issue came back up I took the car to the dealership and they determined that the cause was an extremely loose connection on the newly replaced(by akin) starter. Since then there have been absolutely no problems with the car.

Akin's "repairs" simply cost money and caused more problems. Fuses don't pull themselves and wires behind panels don't magically become disconnected and taped up out of the way. Naturally no one would take responsibility for these things.

I will never go back to Akin and I suggest anyone that doesn't like being an unwilling repeat customer avoid them as well.

Allen Akin, is a stand up honest guy. I have done business with him in the past and if I ever own a BMW it will go to him and his shop.

Thanks,

These guys are great! If you are looking for a BMW repair shop then look no more. I have had my 740IL at the dealer and they wanted to put a new transmission in my car. I went to Allen Akin and they rebuilt my transmission for 1/3 of the cost and they even gave me a one year warranty! These guys are honest, dependable and knowledgeable. I highly recommend that you give them a try.

I took my 1999 BMW in for routine service (oil change, etc..). After I paid and was about to leave my door locks and alarm wouldn't work. They were working fine when i brought the car to them just a few hours before. I mentioned this to them and they traced the problem to a faulty hood sensor.... and just WHO had been in the hood in the past few hours?? I wonder... Anyway, they took no responsibility for the damage they did saying "a lot can go wrong when we're repairing other things". WHAT!? I told them that they will never receive my business again and I urge everyone out there with a car they care about to take it somewhere else!
