  • I would highly recommend this shop over the dealer any day. He is cheaper, just as knowledgeable, if not more, than the techs at Fields and he uses the latest equipment to diagnose you vehicle. The best thing of all is that he is honest. That is a quality that is hard to come by. He will not waste your money on repairs your car does not need and for anyone reading this you know how expensive it is for repairs on BMWs. So if you want a good, honest, knowledgeable person who will fix your car at a fair price, I recommend Bavarian Automotive.

  • I had my disabled vehicle delivered to Bavarian Automotive while I was overseas. The gentleman that I dealt with was very prompt in corresponding via email regarding the issues with my car. He quickly diagnosed the problem and provided feedback as how to prevent a future recurrence. The repair cost was fair. The repairs were done expeditiously and correctly. I greatly appreciate that this business is operated in an ethical manner and did not try to gouge me or mislead me.

  • Chris has been servicing my car since I moved to Orlando—three years ago. During that time he has done quite a bit of maintenance work, (oil changes, brakes, oil filter housing gasket, coolant change, and most recently a water pump and a belt tensioner. I must say, Chris cares about my car as much as I do. In fact, he reminds me of the mechanic that Seinfeld took his Saab. The mechanic felt Jerry was neglecting his car, so he stole it. Please that is the utmost praise I can give Chris. In the past three years, I have found Chris to be honest, trustworthy, and most importantly, and awesome mechanic. I was quite concerned about finding an honest mechanic once my warranty expired. If not for Chris, I probably would have sold the car. His last repair of the water pump, which is a common problem on the E90, was well priced and done in a timely manner. As I stated in my Google review, we are a two BMW family, and Chris will soon be working on my other car as its warranty is up in a few months. If you care about your BMW and do not want to pay dealer prices for repair, yet you want the quality, this is the shop for you.

  • Bavarian Automotive is a small shop and is located in a very busy and congested commercial area. As such, it can be quite a challenge to find this shop on your own when visiting them for the first time. I worked with Chris, who I believe is the owner / operator, but I never did ask. He was the technician that handled all my questions and attended to my vehicle's issues. I found him to be very helpful; his acumen and straightforwardness of conduct in dealing with customers is ideal. My first and only visit so far was for a pre-purchase inspection. My situation was unique in that I was unable to afford the total time necessary to allow for a proper and thorough vehicle inspection. Additionally, my request for his service was on very short notice--I was amazed that he could even assist me that very same day. Although my time available to Chris was limited, I was able to ascertain from him quite a bit about the vehicle I was looking to purchase. I feel confident that if I require any future services, this shop would be one I could rely on.

  • My car is my baby, hence I had to find someone that would treat it the same way. Then I found Bavarian Automotive in Orlando. My car needed a bit looking over. I told them what my car was doing, they then diagnosed it and then tell me what was wrong. I left it in there hands and when I went to pick it up, my baby was good again. I had found my machine shop. When you go to any service you want to be treated fairly, and with respect and that is what this shop those. I have been a customer for many years now. When i brought my other BMW I took it to them. The owner Chris is very knowledgeable about BMW cars. So when I leave my cars, I know I'm getting the best machine in town for a fair price. Thanks so much for always taking care of my cars, see you guys soon time for oil change.

  • I first brought my M6 to Chris after an extensive web search and have never been disappointed. Besides his obvious attention to detail, Chris is also very informative and always takes the time to explain the work he is doing and why they would be good for a car that is almost 30 years old! Thank you Bavarian.

  • I recently acquired a 2008 750Li. I wanted to have a full inspection on the car and also to fix a slow to crank issue. I found Chris and Jake and set up a time for them to have the car. They repaired it and did a very thorough inspection. Chris advised me on some future maintenance on my car items to keep this car safe and reliable. A few weeks later I had them fix a check engine light. They found the problem and had the new BMW part installed in one hour while I waited. I then set up a visit to complete all the items recommended from the full inspection. The attention to detail and the personal service given by Chris and Jake is hard to find these days. Chris has built his shop on integrity and honesty. If you want a safe and reliable BMW look no further than this jewel of a shop. Your wallet or purse will also thank for using this BMW only shop.

  • Chris and Jake diagnosed the issue I was having with my car in a matter of minutes and had it repaired just an hour later. They are very professional and have a meticulously maintained shop. They don't make up things that need to be repaired like at the BMW "stealerships!" They love their craft and it shows in their quality workmanship.

  • I was on vacation from Georgia when my 745 starting acting up and i had to rent a car. I found this shop on Google and was not disappointed. He diagnosed it and fixed the problem without charging me a arm and two legs. He called me and told me the problem and what he did to fix it which was out of this world. I would recommend him to anyone. Great job Chris.

To fix or not to fix—that is the question. Whether tis nobler in the mind to suffer the repair bill of a 100,000-mile service on a ten-year-old E90, or suffer the slings and arrows of driving a lesser car. To drive, to drive fast no more, and by drive fast no more would be to not drive a BMW. But the heartache and the thousand natural shocks that would come from knowing the beauty of driving a well-maintained BMW and not doing so anymore. To drive, perchance to drive fast. Ay, there’s the rub, for in driving fast, what dreams may come, when we have shuffled off this mortal coil, must give us pause. There’s the respect of knowing we drove and maintained a BMW. For those that must bear the whips and scorn of a lesser car, yet never know the pangs of loving a BMW is the conundrum of life. Just another thank you to Chris and Tyler for my 100K service on my ten-year-old E90. I cannot believe how well the car is driving. I swear, if I didn’t look at the odometer, I would think I were driving a new car. Chris you have again exceeded my expectations. The service was done in an expeditious manner, and all is perfect. I could not have wanted more. Moreover, the money I saved by taking the car to you instead of the dealer will buy some nice treats for my dogs.

I found this shop online and it had good reviews. So I went in and dropped off my 07 BMW 530i for a diagnostic test because first service engine light was on,my idle would go up and down when stopped at stop light, also car would jump when coming to a complete stop and an oil leak by the oil filter.Chris told my husband that the test would be $250. He left the car there and was told he couldn't stay around as if only employee's and people who own a shop were the only ones allowed around the area.(A little fishy)Then he called and said the runner valve and battery had to be programmed he quoted us $1014..He asked if we wanted to leave it.We asked about the oil leak he suggested we fix two hoses.I asked him to give us a quote, said it shouldn't be more than $100 for each, then I called back the next day and gave him the ok. Picked up the car later that day,the final price was $1400.We asked him why the diagnostic was $300 instead of the original $250 he had added an extra $50 to the diagnostic test for the oil thing which he never let us know about(Odd). We paid him and left to put gas seeing as we needed it.The check engine light was off and all was ok at first. We put gas and started driving away, then, the idle started acting up again. We got home literally 30 mins later turned off the car, then, came back out an hour later to go to the store and the check engine light came back on and the idle was worse than when I took it in for the diagnostic test.I called him back (he sounded very unprofessional when picking up phone). He told us it could be bad gas he said to bring it back the next day since they were closing already. Next morning we dropped off the car and I started questioning him as to what hoses and where the runner valve was so I could know he pointed everything out to me and my husband. I left the car and later received a call letting us know that we had to replace another valve (can't remember exactly with one).He quoted us $689.My husband lost it seeing as it's less than a week from Christmas. The car was better before Chris worked on it. My husband let him know that we have a mechanic in Lakeland and would have him check his work.Chris panicked and was telling my husband "why didn't you tell me that before". We picked up the car and it was driving a little better than before when we opened the hood to make sure he didn't do anything out of spite I noticed that the runner valve that he had pointed out to me as being a silver piece was now black and looked different.(I don't understand) and the oil leak was worse then when I took it in the first day.I took it to mechanic in Lakeland and got his opinion,I called Chris and told him what the other mechanic said and I asked him to show me proof that he really purchased a new runner valve and hoses. He refused and said he doesn't have to provide proof. If he was an honest person he wouldn't have had a problem doing so,(I know they don't pay what they charge all I wanted was peace of mind that's all). He told me to take him to small claims court and he would have to show it to the judge, but that would be a waste of my time and his. I would never in a million years recommend this shop to anyone not even my worst enemy. Very unprofessional and very dishonest.

Good for you, but none of my target customers care and here is why...

    This is your FIRST BMW.

    You purchased it USED.

You are at least the FOURTH owner of this car.

You have only owned it for SIX months.

You are now on at least your FIFTH mechanic in six months.

You LIED and WITHHELD information from us about the history of the car.

You LIED and told us your cousin (a blood relative) is a technician at Lakeland BMW, but for some strange reason you go to him LAST.

You accused us of charging you for a part but not actually replacing the part with no evidence of this and expect us to start showing you wholesale invoices. (which tells a lot about the kinds of places you normally visit for car repair).

We confirmed and corrected three serious problems on your car. If you want to act like your car couldn't possibly have multiple problems after buying it off a used lot, then we won't get in your way.

From there he has done a lot of preventive maintenance that makes my BMW one of the best handling ones for it age and milage. I would highly recommend Chris to any BMW owner.

This Guy Chris says he knows what he is doing. He gets his information from a forum just like anyone else can. He charge me for things he said he would not. And really $200 later all I got was an oil change. His shop is in one of the worst parts of the city and can only fit a few cars as all it is is a bay. No waiting area. He takes for ever and charges way too much. For a mere $15 that he over charged me he will never see me nor my car ever again and I will never refer him. We all work to make money I understand that but, don't rip people off. He was going to charge me $180 for software up grease because it takes two hours to download. A flat fee should be charged here. Yea he got his first and last $200 from me.

    Responses in parentheses

"He gets his information from a forum just like anyone else can."

(this shop never uses public forums. I have a large technical library for just BMWs. The forums used here are for reference and statistical prevalence of unusual problems, are not public, charge fees

for access, and are for mechanics and shop owners only.)

"And really $200 later all I got was an oil change."

(Only an oil change Mike? Really? Did you forget I installed two brake wear sensors, diagnosed what was causing the light to not go out,

scanned, recorded, and cleared codes from over 30 computers on your vehicle, attempted to recode the brake module and installed the missing jack pad? All of which is listed on the invoice

you received at the time of service. Lying in a review and about the dedication to my customers is telling us a lot about what kind of a person you are Mike.)

"He charge me for things he said he would not.

For a mere $15 that he over charged me he will never see me nor my car ever again and I will never refer him. We all work to make money I understand that but, don't rip people off."

(Mike is referring to the $15 I charged for a jack pad missing from his under his vehicle that is needed for lifting his vehicle safely and without doing damage to the underbody. Being that I am responsible for safely raising your vehicle, I do not think it

is too much to ask that an inexpensive part needed to do my job properly be installed on your vehicle. )

"He was going to charge me $180 for software up grade because it takes two hours to download. A flat fee should be charged here."

(I connected his vehicle twice to the BMW computer, diagnosed the reason for the brake wear light not going out as a software issue that needed to be rectified. I attempted to recode the brake

computer, but the vehicle required a full software update. I showed him the printout that that stated this. This is not a download Mike, the programming/coding process takes 2 hours, or 118 minutes as

reported by the programming computer. I'm sorry you do not understand how the process works, but implying that I was simply charging a random amount shows how little you know about me, my shop, and how much its costs to even be able to provide this service on a 2007 BMW. Please tell me where you would get this done for less than what I charge because at the dealer it would have been over $300)

"His shop is in one of the worst parts of the city and can only fit a few cars as all it is is a bay. No waiting area."

(Bavarian Automotive is across the street from Fields BMW, protected by cameras, and full time security. The BMW dealership has a beautiful waiting room with TV, ice cream, and plenty of space.)

"He takes for ever and charges way too much."

(I spent four hours speaking with Mike and working on his BMW. Of course it felt like it took a long time because he did not want to leave his vehicle and insisted on waiting, which is fine. However Mike, this is not Dominos Pizza, 30 minutes or less, if speed is more important than accuracy, then I am sure you can find a shop that will accommodate you. I will always take the time I feel I need to do

    my job properly, no exceptions.)

I found Chris on Bimmer Shops and glad I did. I took my 525i in for a simple change of wiper blades which I picked up at the dealership - since the ones for my model year are no longer sold retail. I went to Chris to install them and to get familiar for future repairs. I had just acquired my vehicle a few months before and was dissatisfied with to only other local shop i found. Chris took interest in my car, and was patient and informative. As we discussed getting a full inspection at a later date, he installed my wiper blades, checked the wiper fluid, and then checked and topped off other fluids for good measure! come to find out my power steering fluid was low, the air filter although clean was warped leaving a gap inside the case. He also discovered and showed me where a previous repair had taken a short-cut, patching a hose instead of replacing. All his observations were note worthy, he explained alot about the vehicle that was new to me, and i will definitely be back.

I have been taking my BMW to Chris for quite some time and I can say he is the best in Orlando. I had smoke coming from under my hood and he was able to discover that is was a gasket leak. He prices are way cheaper then anyone else. My car is no longer smoking and in perfect condition. Any time I have an issue with my car I just call Chris up and he tells me to bring it in. Chris enjoys his job and he is dedicated to his customers and you can tell this by the work he does. I won't let anyone work on my BMW but him.

When I called Chris, he was very professional and asked if I could drop my 98 E39 540IA off with him so that he can investigate the A/C issue I was having. I told him that due to my limited time schedule, I needed to work something out. Chris was great and willing to work with me. He asked if I could bring in the vehicle for diagnostics and then bring it back when it was convenient for me for the repair. Needless to say, he fit me in ASAP. I when i got to the shop Chris was great, he was methodical in his approach for diagnosing my vehicle and in the hour that I was there he diagnosed and fixed the A/C Blower issue that had been the root of all evil for that last two years. I love his work ethic, his dedication to his customers, and his willingness to work with me.

Ultimately, I was shocked to see the price of the diagnostic and repair to inclute the parts. It was so reasonable. It would have cost me 4 times as much to take it to a dealer and probably take 4 times longer to fix.

In short, Chris was amazing and I can now say that I will have my BMW repaired ONLY by Chris and Bavarian Automotive.

Thank you so much for everything, Chris.

My wife and I were getting very frustrated with our 540i. We have been spending a lot of money at the dealership and with other mechanics. Chris really took to time to figure out the causes of the problems, not just fixing the symptoms. It took a couple of visits but I think he really understands our car and now has it running in top shape. We think his fees are fair and always presents options based on our budget. We highly recommend him to BMW owners who are tired of getting abused by the dealerships.

I had the most impossible situation with my car door: it wouldn’t open, the lock was broken but the door was sealed shut. I took my car to 5 different shops and they had no idea how to get my door to open. So I found Chris online and I called him to make sure he would be able to help me out. He didn’t even hesitate and told me to take it in. After spending time trying to figure it out he was successfully able to not only get my door open but also fix it. I still take my car to him every time because he showed me that no matter what the problem is, if he doesn't know the answer, he's dedicated enough to research how to fix it.

Chris is the best mechanic ever. I took my car to him last week to get an inspection done to find out if I had any issues with my 2003 325i BMW. He sat me down and told me everything that needed to get done and he even prioritized everything so I knew what to get done first. I took my car back this week and he went above and beyond with the repairs that he did. The cost is way cheaper then taking it to the dealership and Chris is an expert at what he does. My car is running smoothly. There are still somethings I need to have done and without any doubt I will be bringng my car back to Chris.

Chris is amazing on the work he does to my car. He goes above and beyond the extra mile to make sure the repair is in tip top shape. For example, on brake jobs, most repair shops just change the brakes and done, Chris, not only changes your brakes, he lubricates your brake system, cleans out all the gunk, and makes sure if he sees anything else that quick to fix, he does it for you in an instant. Great Mechanic!!!
