On November 21st, 2023, at approximately 4:44pm (Right before closing), I called Driven SD to inquire about an Inspection 2 service for my 1998 BMW 528i. Tony was kind enough to listen to my concerns (My 5 Series sat for four and a half years inside of a storage unit). At 4:58pm, Tony sent myself a link to my phone and provided email with detailed notes and pricing for each service.
I asked if I could schedule an appointment for 7am for an Inspection 2 for the following morning. Tony replied promptly the next day at 6:44am saying he had to run out the door at 5pm and he just saw my text. He said if I can drop off the car off for the day, he can squeeze it somewhere. Tony also said if I can leave it for the day, he can make it happen.
November 22nd, 2023
I ended up dropping off the car around 7am and he was very friendly in person. I explained my story and he was very attentive to my concerns and compliment my car. I sent him a list of items of things I wanted checked out.
At 10:38am, Tony text me saying he got the 5 Series checked out earlier than expected. He said was making good progress on the Inspection 2 and provided some info together for other concerns.
I was able to review it the notes and I was quite happy with the quoted estimates. I went ahead and scheduled an appointment for December 15th. I also scheduled an appointment for January 2nd 2023.
At 2:49pm, Tony sent me a text with info that my vehicle's check engine light came on while he was driving it. He said unfortunately it seemed that the camshaft sensor has failed and will need to be replaced. He said he would offer to share the pain since it happened on his watch and offered to the repair at 50% for that service. He said the other problem was there weren't able to get the part till Friday. I was totally cool with the bad news since he was so transparent and communicative. I ended up calling him back and let him know he can keep the car till Friday to make the repair.
On Friday November 24th at 8:21am, Tony sent me a text saying my car is ready and thanks again!
Overall, I am very happy with the experience, communication and the pricing. I was researching many shops and Driven SD was consistently at the top. I would highly recommend if you have an older BMW or a newer BMW!
