Almost a year after I had a local dealer hold my car for 60 days, with no luck, I decided to have Coast Motor Works give it a shot. Ron and his techs at Hunt. Bea. tackled the problem of the O2 sensors switching them out until they found the solution. I decided to go to the Colorado River, Parker, AZ., took the top down on a beautiful spring day through Joshua Tree Nat. Park, I couldn't be happier with the results, and my oil gauge hasn't moved. Thanks Guys.

George from Coast Motor Werk helped us with the annual service of X3 on April 8, 2015. From the onset he showed utmost professionalism and courtesy.

Later, when I requested a ride to work, Jake provided a courtesy transport to my work. He was also very polite and professional.

Throughout the day, George provided updates on the work, and technical explanation of why a task needs to be done.

The lobby was clean and had plenty of comfortable seats if one needed to wait for their vehicle. The vehicles work was completed as promised.

I relocated our 1997 318i to So Cal from the Pacific NW. A day after arriving in Seal Beach, the air conditioning stopped working on the BMW. Where to go to get it fixed? Checking the BMW forums for recommendations, Coast Motor Werk came up with consistently high reviews. I scheduled an appointment with Mark in the Huntington Beach shop and dropped the car off. They did a complete evaluation on the old gal before recommending service. They were spot on with the condition of the car and what it needed. The estimate was good and they proceeded to fix the ac. As with most 16 year old cars with 180000 miles, they ran into a couple minor issues that also needed attention. I appreciate the fact that they wanted to fix the car right the first time. Mark called and explained the items they found and worked to make it a minor addition to the original estimate. Being new to the area, it is nice to find a highly rated customer oriented shop that does quality work. Thanks guys.

I purchased this vehicle with about six months left on the CPO warranty. During this period, I had two occasions to bring the car in to my regular OC BMW center (who has serviced my other Bimmer while it was covered by BMW's maintenance plan). One experince was 'fair' - they replaced a front strut for "free." The other experience was terrible. The service engine light light came on. They diagnosed it as faulty Vanos Solenoid and besides charging me $160 for that diagnosis, they wanted to change both solenoids at a cost of $769.00. When I picked up the car, the Service Engine Light was gone and the car drove fine. WTF? I went to Coast Motor Werk for a second opinion and Brad referred me to Andrew. Andrew spent a good half hour with me explaning how these solenoids work, what they do and even showed me one that had gone bad. I have a pretty good understanding of how our cars work and Andrew obviously knows his stuff and gained my trust by his no BS approach. He even hooked up my car to the diagnostic computer for a quick check of a headlight issue - all for free and with a smile.

I've been going to Coast Motor Werk for service on my BMW for about 4 years now. Before that, I was going to Sterling BMW in Newport Beach and/or Caliber Motors in Santa Anna. Coast Motor Werk is light years ahead of either of them in terms of quality workmanship, service and reliability. I've never had to bring my vehicle in twice for the same repair. They fix it right the first time and it's done when they say it will be done. All their mechanics are very personable, besides being knowledgeable and Ron and Brad two of the nicest guys you could ever meet. Going to Coast Motor Werk is truly a uniquely pleasant experience.

Ron and his team at Coast Motor Werk in Huntington Beach have done a fantastic job on our X5 for the last several years, saving us thousands of dollars over dealer service charges. Ron tolerates (even encourages) my own repairs where practical and is always ready to come to the rescue when I don't have time or the required tools or equipment for the job. A real joy to work with.

I just had my complete brakes done at the Huntington Beach location and was serviced by the owner Ron. I've had my 323 BMW serviced at Coast Motor Werk for years now, great service and very honest. I had gone to another BMW service guy before Coast Motor Werk and found out I was getting ripped by them. Thanks for saving me Coast Motor Werk, Jeff.

I am so glad my car had a squeaky clutch when it did. I may have never walked in Coast Motor Werk.

    Briefly:

Spoke with Brad over the phone about my squeaky clutch. He didn't laugh, or make me panic, and invited me to come into the shop to have someone check it out.

Met Derek, who was kind enough to drive in circles around the parking lot, listening for the sound. When that didn't work, he put it up on a mounts to look under the body.

I've been to a friend's shop, a relative's friend's car shop, and Oil Can Henry's, among other places. It doesn't matter if someone is "nice" or "cheap." If the person can't fix your car correctly the first time, it's a waste of time and money.

The service was great. I would have paid them for their time, but it turns out they were just happy to help! I've since had an oil change, purchased tires, and had the tires realigned.

I took my 2004 BMW 325ci into Ron's shop, Coast Motor Werk, for the second time in two years and was not disappointed, other than by the fact that I had to dish out some cash. I had been putting off repairs that he recommended two years ago, basically by not driving the car. I tried to sell it even, hoping the problem would go away, but finally decided to bite the bullet, even though it has set me back a bit. The only comfort I had in all of this was knowing that Ron is an honest man and I know that I wouldn't have to worry about him cheating me or exaggerating the situation like they love to do in the dealerships to make more money. Ron is honest. I asked him to tell me what I could get away with waiting on and what needed to be done immediately. He told me straight up and in the end, because of his honesty, I decided to do everything, even though it hurt a bit financially. I don't mind charging things when I know I'm not being duped. I never feel good going into an auto shop for anything, but I left Coast Motor Werk feeling like I was poorer, yes, but that I had an honest deal. Ron won't let you down, nor will his staff. They are my shop from now on.

Thanks to Ron and the guys, I have found somewhere that I trust to provide the best care for my 2006 M6. Ron has been the best to deal with as he is knowledgeable and honest. I have recommended Coast Motor Werk to my brother (X5) and sister-n-law (530xi) as their after-warranty shop.

I drive a 2003 325 Sedan. This is the first time I took my car to Coast Motor Werk for a maintenance service. I had an inspection 2 service.

Brad and the team was great!! They provided a reasonable and knowledgeable service. I am very satisfied.

I will definitely go back in the future.

I drive a 2007 328i Coupe with just over 50k miles, as you all know my car is no longer covered by the factory warranty. BMW gave me above average service, I didn't think I would ever take my car anywhere else (even after warranty was up). Service light ignited and two light bulbs went out, to service and repair my vehicle would cost me about $185 for an oil change and $230 for just one of the light bulbs. Those prices got me looking else where, I did some research on local shops, I called a few. I chose Coast Motor Werks not only because they had the best prices but because they only work on BMW's and because they were extremely welcoming. I saved over $200 dollars with them. The shop was pretty amazing, I can honestly say I found my mechanics. Oddly enough I look forward to my next visit. Thanks Coast Motor Werk!

I own a BMW 2005 330ci. The first time I went to Coast Motor Werk was because I had a problem with my airbag light always being on. After receiving an expensive quote from a dealership I decided to bring my car to Coast Motor Werk where they repaired it for a fraction of the dealership’s quote. They were great in that not only did they fix the problem but they checked my car thoroughly for any other possible problems.

Since then I have had work done on my car three times at Coast Motor Werk and been satisfied with the repair and service.

Ron and Brad are especially knowledgeable in BMWs and the customer service is impeccable. The prices are reasonable and the quality of service is outstanding. I found a repair shop I can trust and will recommend it to anyone.

I have consistently had a great experience at Coast Motor Werk over the last year I've been going there. Ron is consummately professional, from the first phone call to the moment he hands your keys back to you. Beyond having the most expert knowledge of BMW's based on his years of experience, Ron's knowledge is also always up to date. Another outstanding characteristic is his patience. Despite having a number of cars lined up at each visit, he'll still take his time explaining the issues my car has, as well as my options up front. Not only do I never feel he's rushed, he will linger on answering my questions until I don't have any. When they actually start working on my car, Ron and staff (including Brad) are courteous, efficient and accommodating. I've never felt compelled to go elsewhere.

I took my car in to Ron at Coast Motor Werk because I was sick of dealing with the dealer and their inability to diagnose my check engine light. I brought my Cooper in short notice and Ron and his team were able to check it out. The end result was a fairly costly repair, but I believe Ron when he says the dealer would have charged double for the amount of work his team performed. When you talk to Ron you can tell you are dealing with an honest person... I just don't believe you can "fake" that. You also can't fake the considerable knowledge Ron has about BMWs and MINIs. I would recommend this shop to everyone out there that is looking to avoid the dealer and their typical hijinks.

I looked for a shop for a few months for my 76 2002. Alot of shops worked on just old or just new BMWs....Coast Motor Werk was different. They worked on them all. The shop was magnificent....and the variety of BMWs they were servicing told me that I was in the right place. Ron, the owner took care of me personally, and was very knowledgeable about the cars. I ended up with major work being done to the car because of the state my 33 year old car was in. It limped in, barely and drove out feeling like a brand new car. I was more than thrilled with the way I was treated and the quality of the work is outstanding. They say that once you find a mechanic, you never sell that car...if only Ron worked on Range Rovers!

The Best Auto Repair Shop You Will Ever Find!

The first time I serviced my 650i, I made the horrible mistake of taking it to a dealership mechanic. Not only did I spend a half hour being passed around on the phone like a monkey trying to set up an appointment, I spent three hours waiting for them to "service" my car (i.e. change my oil). My old and wise neighbor recommended Coast Motor Werk in Huntington Beach so I I gave them a call the next time I needed my 650i serviced. Within two minutes, I had an appointment time set up with them, an estimate on how much the service would be (half that of the dealership), the amount of time it would take (no more than thirty minutes) and the priceless feeling that I was in good hands. When I showed up at Coast Motor Werk,, the friendly owner greeted me by name and had my car in the shop within minutes. I was then led inside to the very modern waiting room, where a plasma screen tv, aquarium, leather seats, ipod speakers, and free waters and snacks awaited me. Twenty minutes later, my car was ready. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Period. I will ALWAYS take my BMW to Coast Motor Werk and would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who appreciates top of the line service, the best prices, and some of the friendliest mechanics around.

I have been taking my '02 5 series to Ron for about 2 years now. Recently I was in Bakersfield and my radiator blew out. I couldn't tell where it was blown and called Ron to ask him if the upper hose had recently been replaced. He talked me through inspecting the system and he felt it was the radiator. Since I was in a meeting, Ron told me he would find a reputable repair center and call me back. He located a shop close to where I was and interviewed them over the phone to verify if they seemed like a decent facility. They fixed the problem quickly (it was indeed the radiator) and at an affordable price. Ron really went out of the way to make sure I was taken care of. This is the kind of service that sets Ron's business apart from all the others, and is much appreciated.

For 40-odd years, I'd ask for the used parts on my dad's advice. Mechanics would find the greasiest junk they could find and say, "Where ya want it?" Probably not even from my car! When I visit Ron and tell him my problem, I mimic how it sounds with grunts and sighs. I know zip! He'll go to his office and come back with a working model and say, "This is what I think is wrong. See this plastic piece? Well, it gets worn down here...." Amazing how often he knows what it is before looking! When it's harder than that, they work with me, and the car, until it's perfect. I was staggered once when I didn't have to pay a dime! At last, people who really get that old saw, "Honesty is the best policy." I trust Coast Motor Werk not only with my car, but the safety of my children who drive. If you drive a BMW, Ron should be on your short list. No need to put him on speed dial, however--they take such good care of your car, you won't be seeing them too often...a shame, really--he makes good coffee.

I was looking for a shop to do a major project on my 94 840ci. I loved the car, but the performance was not the best. I decided that I wanted to put a 6 speed in the car and change the rear end ratio it make it perform more like an 850ci with a 6 speed. I searched extensively for a shop capable of fulfilling my dreams for the car and after a lot of research decided on Coast Motor Werk. Ron gave great advice on the project and everything came out beautifully, actually greatly exceeding my expectations. Everything looks factory and I even went further and had a slightly newer engine and steering wheel put in at the same time. The car runs fantastic and it is a completely different car to drive. I am a very picky car nut and ask a lot of questions. Ron took the time to patiently answer my questions and keep me informed every step of the way. The price was reasonable for the work done. I would highly recommend Coast Motor Werk for those who may want special projects done and also for normal maintenance. They are honest, give very personal service and do excellent work.

I own 4 BMW coupes including a 1992 850i. The v-12 engine was experiencing problems that neither the BMW dealership or my local mechanic could diagnose. After a considerable amount of wasted time and money, I contacted Coast Motor Werk. Coast Motor Werk was able to diagnose the problem that was unique to my vehicle and subsequently repaired my engine. The car now runs like new. I only regret that I had not wasted so much time and money before contacting Coast Motor Werk. Coast Motor Werk is to be recommended for their knowledge, integrity and cost efficiency. From this point on only Coast Motor Werk will be allowed to put a wrench on the 850.

Coast Motor Werk is a fantastic place to take your BMW. Ron & his staff are very meticulous in their work and ensure the job is done. All this is accomplished without being pressured into doing things that are not necessary. Ron will inform you of all the things that were noticed and then tells you what needs to be done and what can be done later on. He is very knowledgeable and always there to answer questions. Even after I left the Orange County area and moved to LA, I still bring my car to Ron and his guys.

After countless years of taking our BMWs to the dealer, we bought our friend dinner for recommending Coast Motor Werk!

Personal service--they know your BMW's record years on end & make recommendations. The dealership was too much of a headache with the upsells & they have some computer protocol to follow without actually addressing the problem.

The owner Ron & his staff at Coast Motor Werk never push you into "doing it all at once" if you don't need it at the moment. Very reassuring & reason to go back.

Never had to return to remedy any problem with Coast Motor Werk, whereas we have had to with the "High End Dealerships"

Coast Motor Werk is all about BMWs...they are not only a quality Bimmer shop, they are Bimmer enthusiasts. You can tell by the varying BMWs they so tenderly care for!

I bought my BMW from my older brother who took it for years to a shop in Orange. Coast Motor Werk in Huntington Beach was much closer to me so I gave Ron a shot. Not only was he professional and a detailed explainer, but the work was done in a timely manner and the costs were less then the other place. Better service, better work and cheaper prices....you can't beat that!!! That was 2 years ago and I've been satisfied every time I've required their services.

I own a 1995 M3 that I absolutely cherish. I recently developed an oil leak and got referred over to Coast Motor Werk by a close friend. I'm really picky as to who I trust my Bimmer with. When I talked with Ron on the phone, I was really taken back. He was very knowledgeable and pleasant. When I met him in person, I never felt for a moment that I was being taken for a ride (no pun intended). The shop atmosphere was impressive and the level of service and professionalism was second to none! The repair was done quickly and at a price that I could stomach. One of his technicians, Brandon, was really sharp when it comes to the inner-workings of the BMWs. I have finally found a person to trust with my most prized possession. Kudos to Ron and his technicians at Coast Motor Werk!

I recently purchased a 2003 745i BMW. It is still under warranty, but it doesn't cover the maintenance warranty. My car was due for a service, and the BMW dealership was way too high. I began to look on the internet for some BMW shops, near my area, and ran across Coast Motor Werks. I called a few places before I called CMW, but when I spoke with Ron he seemed so pleasant, and patient in the questions I asked, so I thought I'd give him a try. To my pleasant surprise, everyone seemed to be very friendly, and made me feel very comfortable, and safe with bringing my car there, especially Ron & Scott. The place was very clean, and I was given alot of advice and information in regards to my vehicle. The service was quick, and the price was very reasonable. What I liked most of all, was that they didn't try to take advantage of my lack of knowledge. They checked everything out for me, even some things I thought I might need, Ron told me I didn't. It's rare you find a repair shop, that doesn't try to rip you off. I now have found a reliable, trust worthy repair shop the first time around. Thanks Ron for your honesty! Otis & Tanya

I own a BMW shop and was recently on vacation in California. My check engine light came on and I went to Coast Motor Werks to have it looked at. I didn't mention that I owned a BMW shop. I was very impressed with their knowledge of BMWs, their technicians, and their dealer level equipment. The repairs were done quickly and at a fair price. Ron, the owner, made sure he met us and explained what was wrong with our vehicle.

When I got back home I implemented changes based on what I observed at their shop. Great alternative to a BMW dealership in California.
