Testimonials

  • To say top notch would be an understatement. Honest, and knowledgeable. If you live in Jersey and you own a BMW you should know this shop. If not get acquainted.

  • Sal has been repairing my cars for 25 years. I have always found him to be very professional and knowledgeable about his work. In today's fast paced world, he takes the time to explain things to you in a way that you can understand. His rates are very reasonable and is always fair on pricing even when he has to spend time diagnosing a difficult problem. Very trustworthy and highly recommended.

Had a really great experience with Rennsport Motor Works. I’m new to Rennsport but from initial impressions I can see why so many people have been taking their car here for years. This is my first BMW and I spent quite some time researching online the different independent shops in my area. Rennsport wasn’t the closest but it quickly made it to the top of my list after reading the various reviews online as well as numerous positive experiences with Rennsport mentioned on forums. It sounded like everything I was looking for in a shop.

It was late in the day so I sent out an email and got a response rather quickly from the owner Sal. Communication was very good over email and phone and prices were good and inline with what I was expecting to pay at an indy. I didn’t even bother contacting any of the other shops on my list because the communication and online recommendations were so far above what I expected. When I finally showed up for my appointment I found Sal was as nice in person as he was over phone and email and there were no surprises in my service..

I like to do a lot of things myself including some work on cars, motorcycles and small engines I’ve owned. I don’t know everything but if I’m going into a shop I like to learn as much about how a service should be done and confirm that the shop I’m bringing my car and money to knows what they’re doing.

Rennsport has decades of experience and I sort of felt like I was being a PITA questioning them but I’ve been burned really bad once in the past so I try to be careful with new shops. Sal was very patient and understanding and explained everything very well. The point I’m trying to make is I can be a very hard person to please and feel very confident that I can trust that they’ll do a good job in the future without having to ask as many questions so you can too.

Everything I read online about Rennsport checks out. They have all the right experience, certifications and participate in various groups to keep up with the latest information.

Location is easy to get to. There were plenty of parking spots so cars that were waiting to go on the lift or waiting for an owner to pick them up were not crowded together and boy there were some really nice cars there! Shop is large, clean and well appointed. It’s all shop, very little waiting room which I like. I don’t want to have to pay extra for gourmet coffee, pastries, manicurist, masseuse or whatever the heck other places do to keep you comfortable while you you wait. This is a drop it off, pick it up when it’s done type of shop. If you need a car in the meantime I understand based on other reviews that there’s some sort of shop rate on rentals if you call the Enterprise in Hackensack and let them know your car is at Rennsport. They will pick you up and drop you off. You should call to double check if that’s something you’ll need.

They did the work I asked for very well including their very comprehensive inspection. They have a thorough checklist for Minor and Major service (aka Inspection i and Inspection II). Sal did a great job honestly explaining what came up during the inspection that I should address soon and what could wait. There was no pressure to add on any extra services before letting me have my car back or worse, additional services added and performed without telling me which has happened to me at another local shop.

Car came back clean as in no dirt or grease where there shouldn’t have been and everything’s running fine. Overall I’m very happy with my service at Rennsport.

Looking for a reliable, automotive repair shop is not easy. When I finally found a shop that achieved customer satisfaction, I stuck with them. I have been a customer at Rennsport Motor Works for many years, and have never had a bad experience. Sal, the owner, is honest and is always within the estimated cost. I would give this shop ten stars if I could. If you want an honest shop, focused on giving quality service, this is the place to go.
