Testimonials

  • Great service through and through. Let's see: He diagnosed the likely source of my problem after two other places didn't, without even looking at the car yet (BMW 2003 3-series). It was confirmed after, and he also fixed problems I didn't mention going on within, but was aware of. Car runs smooth, great experience -converted customer!

  • All work was done in a top flight manner. Could not ask for anything better.

  • My car lacked acceleration for months. The check engine light and VSA lights kept coming on. After several trips to 3 different mechanics who could not pinpoint the problem, I called Semaca. After that call, Semaca was 95% sure what the problem was. After an hour in the shop, Serafino confirmed that the problem was a stretched timing chain that had jumped a tooth, thus preventing normal acceleration. I didn't think a timing chain ever needed to be replaced, but, due to my driving habits (hard driver) and the fact that I may have gone too long between oil changes on more than one occasion, I brought this issue on myself. Though I was not happy with the repairs that were going to be required, (especially after having spent money at other places) I was extremely happy with the service I received. Serafino took the time to show me what the issue was by demonstrating on a similar engine that was in his shop. I know a few things about cars and have been to mechanics shops more than a few times and I never got the impression that I was being snowballed here.
After almost 2 months, I am happy to report that my car (2004 Acura TSX) is running smoothly and accelerating like new. I will definitely be using Semaca for any repairs going forward and would recommend this shop to anyone. Hopefully this review also helps anyone that may be having a similar problem with their TSX!

  • I have been a customer for 30 years. These guys really know cars. Give them a try.

  • Have Mercedes S500. Diagnosed and corrected on same day at reasonable cost. "The Dealer Alternative" is the best!

  • Excellent Service Technician! I brought my Lexus GX470 for service. The technician was very thorough. He did a computer diagnosis and drove the car two times and then once with me to be sure he and I were talking about the same issue. The repair is expensive (parts) and there was no pressure to do it now. I will return for the repair when I can afford it, it isn't an urgent or safety concern.

I found Semaca Foreign Car Repairs recently after researching my surrounding area for a truly qualified BMW shop. My car had been diagnosed by Portchester BMW as requiring a new transfer case; error messages had been indicating this. Serafino (shop owner) was perplexed by this assessment since the control module which provides this information was not communicating with the test equipment....he suggested we start with repair..and needless to say he was correct. so a four thousand job was reduced to 850. more importantly i found a trustworthy dealer and will use him for all my future BMW repairs.
