I have a 2007 BMW that needed repairs. After looking around for a competent non-dealer repair shop, I came across European Auto House, 11020 N. Buntrock Avenue, Mequon, Wis 53092. 262-242-6530, the owner is Nathanial Sumner. Nsumner@eahonline.com The available reviews seemed very good. I visited the shop around October 10, 2021 and met the owner Nathanial Sumner. He did a quick “scan” of the car in indicated it needed a lot of work. I left the car with him for a complete evaluation. Several days later, he called me back and indicated the repairs would be around $5,000. He explained in detail what needed to be done and I gave him the go ahead to start the repairs. On October 14, 2021, I gave him a $3,000 advance on my credit card so he could order the necessary parts. He completed the repairs in about a week. He told me he computed the labor and parts in total, so I paid him another $1,857.81 on my credit card on October 21, 2021. When I picked up the vehicle a day or two later, Nathanial said he didn’t have my invoice ready yet but he would complete it and email it to me. I called him several times and even visited the shop in person asking for the invoice. Nathanial stated he was “behind” in his paperwork but would work on it, since he does his bookwork on the weekend. I really have no idea what word was or wasn’t completed. The guy seemed like a competent wrench but his failure to provide me with a work invoice is bizarre. I filed a complaint with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, consumer protection. Mr. Sumner never responded to the complaint. There’s something going on with this guy and you should be very wary of fronting him any repair money and doing business with his shop.
