I have a 2007 BMW that needed repairs. After looking around for a competent non-dealer repair shop, I came across European Auto House, 11020 N. Buntrock Avenue, Mequon, Wis 53092. 262-242-6530, the owner is Nathanial Sumner. Nsumner@eahonline.com The available reviews seemed very good. I visited the shop around October 10, 2021 and met the owner Nathanial Sumner. He did a quick “scan” of the car in indicated it needed a lot of work. I left the car with him for a complete evaluation. Several days later, he called me back and indicated the repairs would be around $5,000. He explained in detail what needed to be done and I gave him the go ahead to start the repairs. On October 14, 2021, I gave him a $3,000 advance on my credit card so he could order the necessary parts. He completed the repairs in about a week. He told me he computed the labor and parts in total, so I paid him another $1,857.81 on my credit card on October 21, 2021. When I picked up the vehicle a day or two later, Nathanial said he didn’t have my invoice ready yet but he would complete it and email it to me. I called him several times and even visited the shop in person asking for the invoice. Nathanial stated he was “behind” in his paperwork but would work on it, since he does his bookwork on the weekend. I really have no idea what word was or wasn’t completed. The guy seemed like a competent wrench but his failure to provide me with a work invoice is bizarre. I filed a complaint with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, consumer protection. Mr. Sumner never responded to the complaint. There’s something going on with this guy and you should be very wary of fronting him any repair money and doing business with his shop.

Be cautious about having work done at European Auto House. I found out my car was driven to Illinois while it was in for service back in August. Upon picking my car up, I had a suspicion there were more miles on it than should be, from memory. When I mentioned this to the owner, I was assured they don't drive customer cars for personal use and that I must be mistaken. Then, I recently received a bill from the Illinois Tollway with a picture of my car. It is wrong for a shop to use customer cars for anything more than a test drive to ensure it's working. A 200-mile trip to another state is unacceptable.

I'm new to the world of BMW. While on a road trip far, far away from home ours displayed a "malfunction" message. Long story short, I called Nathaniel, he calmly helped troubleshoot the issue and we were on our way in no time. In addition, he contacted us later to ensure everything was ok.

Nathaniel goes above and beyond! Thank You!

European Auto House has been my go-to shop for all my BMW/Porsche needs. I've gotten my tires, brakes, and oil changed multiple times all without any drama and for a price much lower than the dealership rates. Nathaniel is fun to talk to and is very understanding about scheduling issues. I've recommended them to all my BMW/Porsche-owning friends.

Wow! Nathaniel fixed what 2 other BMW factory shops were incapable of fixing! I took my X5 to 2 different BMW dealerships with a nagging starting problem. I got it back 3 or 4 times, and each time it was still not fixed. I got the run around on what to do...through the process my warranty company paid over 10K and ultimately (unilaterally and illegally) dropped me from the warranty coverage. I may still file something on that legally but that's another story. With the car still not operating right (like at all), at the referral of my neighbor who is a BMW guy and has been going to Nathaniel for years, I took it to Nathaniel's shop. Two days later I got my car back - it's finally running perfectly! He charged a very fair price. I was ready to dump this X5 into Lake Michigan (not literally of course)....but you get the point. I now Love my car again!

    Thanks Nathaniel Amazing!

Nathaniel and European Auto House have been taking care of me and my families' BMWs for many years. He is easy to get ahold of regarding questions and/or concerns. He provides critical feedback and my car is always serviced exceptionally and on time. We wouldn't look anywhere else to have our cars serviced!

I'm a very happy customer. Had valve cover gaskets replaced as well as transmission service on my E38. Nathaniel gave me a very accurate estimate via email and the job was done in one day.

    Will definitely come back.

Had my brake warning light go off while on the road. Called Nate at European Auto House to discuss the issue. He walked me through the diagnosis which led to concluding the brake sensor was faulty. Turned a major brake repair into an inexpensive sensor replacement. Nate has been terrific in terms of advising when repairs are needed and when they can be postponed. Tremendous value having a repair shop you can trust!

Nathaniel, is great to work with.

Got a loaner car I was not expecting. Got repair done way ahead of stated time. Then sat with me to go over things on my BMW as I am a first time owner of a BMW. Great experience and I expect many more in the future!

Got a new (used) BMW and went looking for a reputable shop. A good friend highly recommended Nathaniel at European Auto House.

Nathaniel and his staff explained everything in detail and finished all the work (lots of deferred maintenance to catch up on) right away.

Nathaniel has been responsive via email too and it is refreshing to get both good customer service and access to very experienced technicians.

    ***** Five Star Review*****

Late in the day, I stopped into the shop unannounced. After describing my vehicle concerns, Nathaniel immediately offered to take a look as well as a loaner car. Home-run! The following day my car was back on the road and operating at 100%. My only regret, is not knowing about European Auto House sooner...best kept secret!

    Thank you Nathaniel.

Nathaniel and the European Auto Haus has done a great job of keeping our X5 humming. Our X5 is the family workhorse and we rely on it everyday. He has better, and in some cases, more equipment than some of the BMW dealers, to keep your car in great shape. We totally trust his advice, and he is always flexible to accommodate a busy family schedule.

A week ago a dashboard warning light came on in my BMW after a short trip on the freeway. I drove a few more miles home. When I parked the car I could hear a horrible noise like a very loud lawnmower. I called European Auto House and spoke with Nathaniel, the owner. He was able to schedule the car for the next day and provide me with a loaner. Based on the symptoms and warning message I received, he said he ordered parts after I talked with him. He had the parts the next morning and he fixed the car that day. I could not believe the quick turnaround on the repair! The car is running perfectly and the whole process was wonderfully convenient and efficient. I am delighted with the quality of the work, the professionalism and the great customer service at European Auto House.

We have had great experience with Nathaniel at European Auto house. We have been taking my cars here for over 5 years. We have two BMW and he does great work. He is honest about the work that needs to be done, and takes good care of his clients. It's nice to know you have someone you can trust that won't rake you over the coals, like some dealers.

I read great reviews from this repair center. Nathan was confident that my problem would be corrected and was completed the same day. He fully explained the problem , sent for the parts and fixed it by days end. Other Service Centers couldn't get me in until a week later.

He mentioned a few minor issues that could be checked during future oil changes, if needed. My BMW now runs better than it ever did with 70,000 miles on it. It feels good to know you have a dependable mechanic down the road!

I've been using Nathaniel and his crew at European for many years now and figured it was time for a review. Not only are they talented technicians but extremely trustworthy. I always appreciate the excellent service, attention to detail and in my view they honestly care. It's a nice feeling knowing your mechanic has your best interests in mind. They're not cheap but no more expensive than the dealer and MUCH better......in every way, including the use of a complimentary loaner car fleet. I will continue to only drive BMW (or Porsche which they service as well) because I couldn't imagine having anyone else take care of my family's vehicles.

I had a serious electrical gremlin that the dealer wasn't able to accommodate for nearly two weeks. After reading the reviews here I gave Nathaniel a call and he was able to get it in. I'll be back and sending friends. He has the expertise and knowledge to deal with the most complex issues and couples that with reasonable prices and importantly trustworthy/friendly service.

European Auto House is by far the best place in Wisconsin to take your BMW for service. Nathaniel Sumner (the shop owner) took such great personal care of my car and treated it like his own. I even got a loaner car for the day. The work was done very efficiently and my car was all washed and ready to go when I arrived back to his shop. Nathaniel further explained every detail of what was done to my car and gave me some new tips and tricks going forward along with his future recommendations. I would highly recommend European Auto House for all of your BMW and Porsche needs if you enjoy first-class service and work performed by the best BMW mechanic in the state! They are the only place in town that I trust.

I have been taking my car to European Auto House for the past couple of years for all of my service, big or small. Nathaniel is extremely honest, knowledgeable, and does great work. Prices are probably 20% less than other mechanics and a fraction of what you would pay at the dealer. They only service BMW and Porsche. I wish they would service my wife's Toyota. It's hard to find people you can trust in the auto repair industry. I've found one for sure. I was planning on getting rid of my BMW, but decided to keep it because Nathaniel has my car running like a top, even with 125,000 miles on it.

I also appreciate that a loaner is provided for free most of the time.

I've tried many BMW shops in the area over the years, both dealer and independent. While most did OK-to-good work, I've felt I was making a compromise with most of them in one way or another. After finding Nathaniel, I'm happy that I no longer have to "live with" less than a professional and courteous experience. He's given my Z3 a new lease on life as it approaches 200k, with amazing knowledge and attention to detail that easily surpasses my own. He is a true asset to owners like me who haven't been happy "settling" with just "OK" service. While I may not have the latest and greatest car out there, it is near and dear to me and he treats it and its needs with just as much respect and care!

Nathaniel (European Auto House Owner) has serviced my '07 530xi for the past several years. Projects have ranged from major to routine maintenance. I have always greatly appreciated Nathaniel's attention to detail and to his hallmark quick response time to questions and scheduling matters. He is a great communicator and, as I am in no way an auto tech expert, has a knack for explaiining even the most technical matters in understandable layman's terms - very helpful to the customer. Nathaniel is an honorable and personable fellow, and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I have been taking my vehicles to Nathaniel at EAH exclusively ever since I came across his shop several years ago. I currently have a 2005 M3 and Nathaniel's vast knowledge, skill and expertise have really extended the life of the car. Aside from the impeccable work, the general atmosphere and customer service are second to none. At EAH, not only will your vehicle receive top notch care, but you will too. I have recommended EAH to a number of people and all have had the same positive experiences that I have. I will never take my BMW anywhere else.... neither should you!

European Auto House has provided me with excellent service over the last 2 years that I have owned my vehicle. Nataniel makes my life easier by responding via email to any questions that I have and has shown extraordinary patience with my lack of knowledge or understanding of anything vehicle related. I trust him implicitly and will never visit another shop as long as I am a BMW owner. Take your car to his shop. You will be thankful that you did.

My car would not start and the dealership could not diagnose for two days and did not have a loaner car, so I researched online and found Nathaniel at European Auto in Mequon. He suggested a local towing company, and within a few hours my car was there and diagnosed. It was quite a major issue/repair, so Nathaniel suggested I contact the dealership where I purchased an extended warranty that had recently expired (reached 72 months). The car had just turned 50K miles. The dealership agreed to pay a large portion of expenses, so the car was then towed from European to the dealership. Nathaniel could not have been more helpful, and lost that repair job because of his helping me!! He lost that job, but a customer for life. He is a master BMW tech, and a wonderful person. I highly recommend European Auto in Mequon!!

I would highly recommend this shop and Nathaniel for all BMW and European car needs!

I had driven past many times, and had no idea of the gem that lied inside of the walls. I stopped one day a few months after purchasing my x3. Nathaniel was selling a very clean 5 series, so I stopped to take a look at it for a co-worker. I had a few questions about my vehicle at that point, since I was a new BMW owner. Nathaniel was very polite and professional with our initial interaction. When my vehicle was due for service I contacted him and the dealer to compare prices for inspection 2. Not only was he not trying to exhaust my bank account, he was very up front about what needed to be done. When I dropped my vehicle off for service he was very efficient with the initial assessment, and let me know immediately, once he knew if I needed to worry about anything or if I would need to worry about additional charges. At vehicle pickup, again he covered what was done and what should be done by me to keep the vehicle running in tip top shape. Also, I lost my spare key and after I ordered a new one he programmed it at my convience at no additional charge. This shop is very knowledgable with BMW and many other European vehicles. I appreciate the service, patience, and explanations given to a BMW newbie. I will always return for future work and maintenance. My experiences with European Auto House make me feel very comfortable with my purchase and service experience. Thanks Nathaniel for the great work.

They are BMW expert. I brought my car over and they fixed it in 15 mins. They truly know what they are doing. Unlike other listed auto shops, "I never done it before" , "Oh it probably take 1.5 hrs $180" ; "The Co*Cour* BMW charges $130" . This European Auto House is the one that I am highly recommend. I will go back again. Very Nice work and nice people.

Shhh. You found the right technician but if everyone finds out we'll be waiting in line. Nathaniel is the first non dealer BMW technician I've ever trusted my cars to. The 540 has 165K miles so in anticipation of increased maintenance I wanted to find someone to work with. Nathaniel has been exceptional. Even in delivering the news that I have a water cooled alternator. (Someday, someone will explain why.) Nathaniel is able, trust worthy, willing to work with me, and always has something on the hoist to see. I can't imagine going back to the dealer, and think Nathaniel's skills are better anyway. Try him.

I am a car enthusiast and have had many cars over the years, mostly German. What i like about European Auto House is the diagnosis is right the first time so I don't have to come back for a follow up. All proposed work is explained in detail, as are the charges. The cost of repairs vs the dealership is very reasonable. The first name personal service inspires confidence. The owners and other employees go out of their way to make sure everything is satisfactory and your car is returned to you in perfect condition.

European Auto House handles all the maintenance on all our cars. He is the most trustworthy BMW service in the area. He is more reasonably priced than the dealership in the area, and much, much more professional. My two children who live in Chicago also bring their BMW,s to Nathanial for service. I have recommended EAH to several friends who also have had positive experiences. They treat us like valuable customers and not just an income stream, and have often gone above and beyond. I recommend them to any BMW owner.

I highly recommend Nate and European Auto House for BMW service. I first had my car serviced by EAH about a year ago. I have had my BMW serviced by other BMW-focused shops and at the two main local BMW dealerships in the Milwaukee area. By far, Nate is the best. He always takes the time to walk me through what he is doing and is a master with diagnostics. He researched and resolved an issue with my airbag system that saved me a lot of money versus what the dealership had quoted me. I really can't recommend him enough! He consistently has gone above and beyond and I will never take my current E46 or any future BMWs that I own anywhere else.
