Recently my shark decided to stop swimming on the highway. I coasted to a stop on the side of the road. It was dark, cold, and scary outside, and i was far from home. I managed to restart it twice after tapping on everything electrical, but was only able to limp a few hundred meters before loosing power again. i pulled out my phone and searched for a local repair shop. To my amazement, one called Autobahn Motorcars was only a few kilometers away, which sounded perfect for my ailing kraut. As my headlights illuminated the parking lot, several E28s came into view and my suspicions about this being the right place were confirmed.
Jim toiled away to diagnose the electrical problems. Luckily, he had the technology and know-how to tap into the shark's 30 year old brain and nervous system, and find the root cause of the malfunctions. Ultimately replacing the computer, ignition switch, and coolant temp sensor. He also identified that the air flow sensor was slightly out of spec and could use replacement eventually. While there, Jim treated the old girl with care, and had her parked indoors. He charged a reasonable price considering the many hours he put in, and provided excellent communication. We even worked together to source the computer to save some money.
I really appreciate the way Autobahn does business, and would recommend them to anyone.
Thanks!
