My HVAC fan was failing intermittently so I took it to Orr Autosport. They did some checking and were ready to install a new fan when they found that my car battery was not holding a charge the way it should. Brian said my fan problems may be the result of the marginal battery and asked if I wanted them to install a new battery. I told him I would get a battery and install it myself (my son has the equipment to register the battery) Sure enough, the new battery took care of all the problems with the fan and other issues. I only paid a minimal diagnostic fee when they could easily have put in a fan I didn't need that would have cost me hundreds more. Why would I ever take my BMW anywhere else? An honest customer oriented shop is invaluable. Plus, they are nice guys that know what they're doing.

I've had minor services completed at Orr Autosport before and I've always really liked the place. My experience today cemented my positive opinion of the shop. I replaced a number of parts on my car and needed an alignment so I naturally chose Orr.

John was my technician and he really went above and beyond while servicing my vehicle. He noticed a few things that I hadn't done properly and quickly righted the issues before performing the alignment. My car now drives better than it ever has under my ownership. Everyone at the shop has an eye for detail and it really shows.

I noticed my license plate bracket was crooked and loose when I dropped the car off so I made a mental note to fix it when I got home. It looks like John caught that and fixed it for me too because now it's perfectly level and has been tightened up. This is, of course, a really small detail but it says a lot. You'd be hard pressed to get this kind of service at most shops. Orr rocks.

Orr Autosport is the go-to place for off-warranty BMWs not only in Minnesota but the upper midwest. Knowledgeable, excellent service, and scrupulously honest. There is no subtle (or blatant) push to add more items to your car's work list. Plus, if you're buying a used bimmer, this is the place to do a pre-purchase inspection. It's worth the cost, "comprehensive" doesn't begin to describe the report they give you. They give you a print out of everything that's wrong, the estimated repair costs, and they'll tell you which wear/repair items are atypical for the car's year and model.

Can not believe there are not more reviews for ORR Autosport! This organization is in a word "Excellent".

When we went looking for a shop to do service on our out of warranty BMW, we found only over-priced dealerships or a shop that thinks they can wrench anything that comes in the door. Thankfully, we found ORR, They know the product, they race it, and we will go nowhere else for our performance needs.

Orr Autosport changed the manual transmission fluid on my 2011 BMW 1 Series M Coupe as part of the 1,200 mile run-in service (the rest of the service—engine oil service and rear differential fluid change—is covered by BMW so I had that done at a dealer). I stopped in on a Tuesday to check out the shop. I was greeted by the owner, Chris, who showed me around the facility. Based on my positive initial impressions, I made an appointment for the service to be done on Thursday. John, the tech, did an outstanding job. He is knowledgeable, professional, enjoys what he does and takes pride in his work. The attention to detail at this shop is excellent. I recommend this shop for enthusiasts who love their cars and want to make sure their BMW is taken care of by professionals who also love BMWs. Orr Autosport works on race cars and other high-performance BMWs, so I felt very comfortable trusting my 1M to them (only 740 1Ms were made for the U.S.)

They also get bonus points for having an iRacing simulator in the waiting room. :)

Orr Autosport has always out done the dealer with both great service and great prices. They have great technicians that get things done and are clearly committed to helping you out, they will even bring you into the shop to see the problem yourself! From the moment you step into the lobby until you get your car back they provide nothing but the best service possible, even if you are just in for an oil change. Prices on things like oil changes, brakes, and other common maintenance are great! Bring them your estimate from the dealer and they will always work with you to try and take care of what you can afford first, and they do it at a better price. They can sometimes get you in same day. Otherwise it is never more than a day or two, and they work around your schedule rather than theres! They have even started having a loaner car available if your car needs major repairs and they can't get it done right away, which is really nice. Overall I wouldn't take my 328is anywhere else, Orr has always been good to me.

A Fantastic Group of People, Highly Recommended.

Over the past 15+ years I've had all five of my families cars (including my track car) serviced and repaired almost exclusively by Orr Autosport. On occasion I've tried other independent shops and dealer, but never felt as comfortable that I got the best value.

For me TRUST is the most important factor in choosing a car service shop and when I go to Orr I know the work is done right.

On many occasions over the last 15+ years they have recommended I NOT do things to my car, things they could have made money on but felt I could wait.

For instance, about a year ago they told me an axle cover needed replacement and that the axle itself was going bad, but not yet bad enough to fix. Orr recommended I wait on the very expensive boot replacement until the axel itself went bad). A year later my tie rod was obviously dead (120K miles is pretty good though) so I had it replaced, and at the same time we determined that both the axle boot and the axle were shot too.

Result > Instead of making 2x the labor $ to replace both the boot and then later the axle they saved me many hundreds of $s and bought me a year of extra use.

Orr isn't the cheapest by the hour, but they represent a great VALUE, and I wouldn't take my BMWs anywhere else.
